Tokyo 6 - Fuji 400
April 11st, 2025- Accidentally rewound my 800T, had to improvise with Fuji400 in Shibuya. Shot neon-lit scenes in one hour, lower ISO, more blur, but some cinematic gems still came out.
After the last film, I had a CineStill 800T ready to go, but I accidentally completely rewound it back to the canister. I had a spectacular night scene in front of me, with lots of neon lights, and I had to get some film by improvising.
That’s how I found a store that only had a Fuji400, that’s how I got one.
I decided to shot it entirely during the night, in a time frame of 1 hour, in Shibuya (a crowded city place in Tokyo).
Bam! I was walking on the street and I saw this couple. I really wish I could give it to them! It would perform better in an 800T, but the Fuji400 did a good job here. The way they look to each other, the lighting, the reflections, this still look like taken out of a movie scene, or k-drama Netflix stuff.
Most of the shots are a little shaken, an ISO400 film was the best thing I could find, but the scene was asking a lot for an ISO800. It is what it is, and we have to work with what we have ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
We were all very tired, although this was the first night we could stand the jetlag and go out at night, it was time to come back to the hotel, the film thing was such a bummer. I usually carry my film picker with me for these kind of accidents, but this time I just brought the camera on shoulder.
That means more subway shots…

Love those Tokyo crosswalks! So graphic. And the couple, really nice moment. Fun series.
Bangers all around, Raf. That couple in the restaurant is unreal, what a scene to capture. I can’t to get there with film this time and not just digital.
